Macmillan-2016-collage.JPGJulie Morgan has thanked everyone who came to her 16th annual Macmillan Coffee Morning held in Whitchurch on October 7 helping to raise more than £1,300 for the charity.

She has raised £13,300 in the 16 years and her next fundraising target for Macmillan is to reach the £15,000 milestone in 2017.

Julie Morgan said: "It was fantastic to see so many people there including the director of Macmillan Cymru, Susan Morris, the director of cancer services at Velindre, Andrea Hague, the current chief executive of the Cardiff and Vale Health Board, Adam Cairns, and the chair Maria Battle.

"It was also fantastic to see the head boy and head girl of Whitchurch High School as well as the head teacher, Huw Jones-Williams. We also had numerous local councillors and council candidates drop in to the coffee morning too.

"We also paused to remember my friend Rob Cooper who always organised the coffee morning in the past and was such a massive supporter of Macmillan. Rob is sorely missed.

"I'd also like to thank Meurig Williams for his beautiful harp accompaniment, Miss Jones café for the coffee and cakes and all the local traders who donated all the prizes for our raffle.

"I look forward to next year's event and gathering even more donations to take us towards my next target which is to raise £15,000 for Macmillan Cymru."
