ME Support group event at the Senedd highlights 'missing millions'

I sponsored an event by ME Support in Glamorgan in September, organised by the group ME Support in Glamorgan (MESIG) which meets regularly in Llanishen.

Events took place around the world on September 27 to raise awareness of myalgic encephalomyelitis / chronic fatigue syndrome, demand social justice for ME/CFS patients and call for increased funding for research and medical education into the disease.

It was very moving to see the empty pairs of shoes on the steps of the Senedd representing the millions of people worldwide suffering with ME, or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, and who are missing from their careers, schools, social lives and families due to the debilitating symptoms of M.E.

  • Cardiff TV covered the event and you can watch a short report here.

Do you need help with ME or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome?

A support group meeting once a month on first Monday 2-3.30pm in Bethel Church Community Centre, Llangranog Rd, Llanishen, Cardiff, CF14 5BJ.
